If you’re ready to leave academia—Academia to UX will give you the critical insights and practical knowledge to successfully land a job as an applied research or UX researcher.

What is UX Research (UXR)?

The objective of User Experience (UX) is to develop seamless interactions between people and places, things, or processes.

A UX Researcher is responsible for understanding the users’ point of view and communicating the most pertinent components for influencing or informing product/feature adoption and success.

UXR is fundamentally about translation and bridging two worlds—those of the company and its vision for the product, service, or experience and that of the intended audience and their lived reality, including their lived-environment, circumstances, wants, and needs.

In the US, the average postdoc salary is $56,000

…the average (base) salary for a UX Researcher is $135,000
